Before you sell the car

Do I need tax, insurance or an NCT for an eBike?

No. A pedal-assist eBike (assist up to 25 km/h) is treated like a bicycle in Ireland, so there's no motor tax, licence, NCT or compulsory insurance. Many owners still cover it against theft.

Can it really handle the school run?

Cargo eBikes take child seats up front or on the rear rack, plus the shopping. How much each one carries depends on the model, so check the spec or ask us in store.

Can I try one before I buy?

Yes. Book a free test ride in Blanchardstown (Dublin 15), Portobello (Dublin 2) or Cork (French Church St).

Can I buy it through Cycle to Work?

Yes. eBikes up to €1,500 and cargo eBikes up to €3,000, saving up to 52% depending on your tax rate. Check with your employer.

Who looks after it once I've bought it?

We do. It comes with a 1-year warranty, and our stores service and repair what we sell, so you're not left searching for a mechanic.
