About Us

LOCO Scooters is an Irish-owned and Dublin-based electric scooter start-up founded in June 2020 by friends Paddy O’Brien and Jason Gore. We sell electric scooters in-store and online and provide in-house warranty repairs and fix electric scooters in our specialist electric scooter repair centre in Dublin. We stock a wide range of electric scooter spare parts, e-scooter tyres and tubes and accessories for electric scooters, allowing us to carry out all electric scooter repairs quickly and to a high standard. The B2B arm of LOCO Scooters provides branding solutions and corporate electric scooter fleets as well as service contracts for shared scooter schemes. Check out our recently completed project for SONICA here.

Our Name
We are asked quite regularly and mostly by Spanish-speakers “what does your name mean?”. To them (and to us sometimes) the word “loco” means “crazy” but our name is taken from the word “Locomotion” which means the power of moving from place to place. It instils in us a sense of reliability, strength and assuredness and we use this as the mantra by which are guided in all that we do at LOCO Scooters.
Our Co-Founders
Having both lived abroad in recent years, Jason and Paddy have first-hand experience of the benefits of electric scooters in the daily lives of commuters and the community in which they are used. We’re talking dramatically reduced journey times, reduced traffic congestion, lower levels of both noise pollution and carbon emissions and improvements in stress levels for those who might otherwise have spent the first hour of their day in traffic. Having benefitted personally from the use of electric scooters and the knock-on reductions in traffic and pollution, Jason and Paddy decided that 2020 was the time to establish Ireland’s first all-in-one electric scooter shop and e-scooter repair centre.

Paddy O'Brien
Paddy is originally from Tipperary and has been an adoptive Dubliner since 2009, having lived all over Dublin since then and now a permanent resident of Dublin 7. Paddy is mostly responsible for the operations side of the business having worked previously as a service centre manager in a fast-paced commercial kitchen equipment company in Dublin and more recently in facilities management in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne, Australia.
Paddy’s role at LOCO Scooters is to ensure that your customer experience is of the highest standard. He makes sure that we always have stock of the best-selling electric scooters in Ireland, all of the e-scooter spare parts that our e-scooter service centre requires to guarantee that your electric scooter is repaired swiftly and professionally. Paddy is your go-to for any technical questions or sales queries.

Jason Gore
Jason is from Rathkenny, just outside Navan in County Meath. A quantity surveyor by qualification, Jason has lived in Dublin, Amsterdam and most recently in California. With a passion for exploring, he has travelled extensively across Europe, South America and New Zealand.
Jason’s role at LOCO Scooters is in web design, marketing and contract management. He is responsible for ensuring that our website looks great and performs to the highest standard possible and that our social media and online content is always vibrant and fresh. Following a Zoom call with Paddy in June 2020 Jason decided to pack up his life in California and move home to Ireland to co-found LOCO Scooters.

Jody Hanlon
Jody is our repair centre manager and he is responsible for the smooth running of our repair centre and the delivery of our after-sales service. Jody is from Dublin, born and raised. After living around the world over a number of years he has returned to the home of Ireland to jump back into the world of engineering. With a background in mechanical engineering, product design and a passion for new technology he is excited to be part of this growing and exciting industry.
