LOCO wasn't started in a boardroom. It was started by two friends on opposite sides of the globe who kept seeing the same thing. Paddy was in Melbourne, Jason in San Francisco. Two cities where scooters were simply a part of city life. You could go anywhere, skip the traffic, and feel a genuine sense of freedom. So when Paddy called Jason with a simple question, “why doesn't Ireland have this?”, the answer was obvious: it should.
They came home to Dublin in 2020 and were reminded fast of exactly what they'd been missing. Forty minutes waiting in the rain for a bus that never arrived, surrounded by traffic and packed trains. And the scooters that did exist? Cheap, unreliable, and more toy than tool.
They didn't want that. They wanted machines built for the realities of the modern city commute. So they set out to find them, scouring the market and curating the best brands to bring to Ireland. And eventually, everything they learned from their riders went into designing and launching their very own LOCO line.
